A few weeks ago, I wrote about a clever use of SMS at the Washington Capitals game.
Today, I got an SMS spam from the Caps inviting me to see the Barenaked Ladies sing the national anthem before the Caps game tomorrow night. Nowhere in the scoreboard promotion did I see an indication that by particpating I was signing up for Caps SMS promotions.
That spam cost me 15 cents. The SMS offers an opt out by responding to the SMS. (For an additional 15 cents.)

Yikes. Yet another reason I don’t send many texts.
